Recently, Renewanation was privileged to visit Ross Corners Christian Academy (RCCA) in Vestal, NY to lead their team through a strategic planning deployment workshop. RCCA has strived to provide a biblical worldview education to children since 1960. The last decade has been a struggle for the school with enrollment steadily declining to its lowest point in 2015 at 73 students. As a result of this reduction, the host church made the decision to close the school. In response, a determined administrator along with a passionate, parent-led leadership board sought Renewanation’s guidance in identifying a path forward to keep the school open and remedy the declining enrollment.
Throughout the course of 2016, Renewanation provided coaching support to the team in addition to a full revitalization assessment this past spring. When the doors reopened in September, RCCA experienced a 37% jump in enrollment generating an energetic enthusiasm for their future path.
On November 4th and 5th, Ron Gordon facilitated the team through the development of a three-year strategic deployment plan focused on continuing to expand enrollment, facilities, and program offerings, while ensuring a continued pursuit of spiritual vitality and school sustainability. The team worked tirelessly to map out the path forward and begin developing the detailed action plans that will be implemented over the course of the 2016-17 school year. As a part of Renewanation’s Christian School Revitalization program, status checks and coaching support will be conducted with RCCA on a monthly basis over the course of the next two years.
